About The Position

The Lead Climbing Wall Attendant is responsible for providing excellent assistance and training while facilitating the general operations of the Climbing Wall. This position educates students and community members about and ensures their compliance with Climbing Wall policies and procedures; provides climbing classes for the campus and community; receiving and channeling student input, concerns, and complaints to the appropriate areas; and monitoring the safety of patrons.

Requirements

  • At least one semester of experience as a Climbing Wall Attendant
  • Available to work at least 8 hours per week during the semester
  • Attend staff meetings and events as necessary
  • Available for multiple weekends per semester for special group rentals
  • Available for additional evening and weekend hours on an "as needed" basis
  • Experience with a variety of climbing gear, procedures, and safety precautions
  • Must be at least a part-time student (enrolled in a minimum of 6 undergraduate or 5 graduate credits)
  • Must be in good academic standing (cumulative and semester GPAs of 2.0 or higher) at the time of hiring and throughout employment
