About The Position

The Lead Cleaner performs a variety of custodial duties for C&W Services in accordance with established standards, instructions, and procedures. The position works under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor. Duties include cleaning and maintaining floors, carpets, furniture, fixtures, glass, walls, and bathrooms; replenishing supplies; removing trash; and completing periodic cleaning tasks. The role may also include clearing snow from building entrances and walkways as directed, monitoring for defects, and reporting issues to supervisors.

Requirements

• No previous experience is required for basic cleaning responsibilities.
• Ability to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and function cooperatively as part of a team.
• Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment.
• Ability to use a portable backpack-style vacuum cleaner.
• Attention to detail, pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high levels of energy and endurance.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, wash, and scrub floors and other interior surfaces.
• Use commercial floor buffers and shampoo machines, including attachments.
• Vacuum rugs in offices and public areas; spot-clean rugs daily and shampoo them when directed.
• Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, and other horizontal surfaces, including periodic high dusting.
• Wash windowsills and glass in interior doors, partitions, and specified windows.
• Wash glass and trim at entrance doors and spot-clean interior walls as appropriate.
• Clean bathrooms daily, including wiping glass, emptying waste baskets, servicing soap and toilet paper dispensers, dusting sills, cleaning tile walls, shelves and stall partitions, and sweeping, mopping, or scrubbing floors.
• Restock bathroom paper supplies daily.
• Monitor for possible defects, such as clogged urinals and lights out, and report them to supervisors.
• Collect building trash daily, place it in approved containers, and move it to the designated collection area for removal.
• Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers according to specifications.
• Sweep or shovel snow from steps, entrances, connecting walkways, and sidewalks as directed.
• Perform periodic high dusting, care of leather and wood surfaces, polishing, and wall washing.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
