About The Position

Essential HealthCare Solutions, LLC is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to serve as Lead / Charge RN anchoring one of the three LCEC shelter sites in North Fort Myers. As the senior clinician on-site, you will own the shelter medical station, maintain the one-RN-on-site minimum for your site, direct the deployed LPNs and CNAs, and act as the clinical point of contact for LCEC site management and EMS. This is a leadership role for a nurse with charge, house-supervisor, or crisis-response experience who thrives in high-tempo, austere environments. The role involves deployment to LCEC shelter sites in North Fort Myers (Lee County), supporting populations of 50 to 500+ operating continuously for 24 hours to 14 days during storm activations.

Requirements

  • Active, unencumbered Florida RN license (or NLC privilege valid in Florida)
  • Current BLS certification
  • Ability to pass a background screening and to deploy on short notice for extended shifts

Nice To Haves

  • ACLS/PALS preferred
  • Prior charge-nurse, house-supervisor, lead-RN, or crisis/disaster-response experience — strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to direct a small clinical team and coordinate across agencies under pressure
  • ICS/FEMA (NIMS) training preferred

Responsibilities

  • Anchor the assigned shelter site and ensure a Florida-licensed RN is on-site at all times, including structured break coverage.
  • Lead the on-site medical station: screening, triage, basic care, and five-minute emergency response.
  • Direct and coordinate the work of deployed LPNs and CNAs; assign tasks and manage on-site clinical workflow.
  • Serve as clinical liaison to LCEC site management, safety personnel, EMS, hospitals, and emergency management.
  • Own shift handoffs and continuity of care between the paired 12-hour shifts.
  • Ensure accurate, complete documentation for the site and feed the daily operational nursing reports and after-action report.
  • Escalate emergencies and significant incidents to the EHS Clinical Lead and Cooperative management per protocol.
  • Monitor supply levels at the site and coordinate replenishment with the Shelter Operations & Logistics Specialist.
