About The Position

This position involves leading assigned staff in performing activities and tasks within pharmacy services. The Lead Certified Pharmacy Technician will serve as a subject matter expert, providing guidance across pharmacies and to clinical leadership. They will lead or coordinate shift operations, acting as a technical or functional resource and performing duties similar to those of the associates they lead. Responsibilities include assigning, monitoring, and reviewing work progress, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, and potentially resolving scheduling issues. This role oversees the daily activities of pharmacy technicians under the direction of pharmacists and management, assists with specialty projects, and participates in departmental problem-solving. The Lead Certified Pharmacy Technician also provides input into hiring, training, directing, development, and evaluation of staff.

Requirements

  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree with 1 year of experience OR 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
  • Currently certified as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by the Institute for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) preferred.
