About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Ophthalmic Technician to manage and oversee the daily operations in one of our clinics. The Ophthalmic Technician Lead will be responsible for supervising a team of ophthalmic technicians, ensuring the highest standard of patient care, and assisting in various diagnostic and clinical procedures. This role requires a blend of leadership skills, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of ophthalmology. The COA/COT lead will perform advanced medical history, checks patient's visual acuity, dilates patient's eyes and assist with office surgical procedures. They will also perform basic slit-lamp exam, visual fields, color vision tests, lensometry, tonometry, keratometry, and refractometry with the equipment within the clinic. Maintains complete and accurate information in the patient's medical record. Prepares and maintains exam rooms to ensure they are adequately stocked with supplies and that all equipment and instruments are in proper working order. The COA/COT lead will help with screening patient phone calls and assist with answering patient questions. Perform other related duties incidental to the work.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of specialized ophthalmic experience
  • JCAHPO certification as a COA or COT
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification
