About The Position

Be part of the Leadership team that is responsible for providing Aerospace level certification oversight. The Product Assurance Airworthiness & Certification (PAAC) organization has a Lead Certification Engineer position available. The successful candidate will be expected to meet qualification criteria for the Honeywell Aerospace TSO Specialist.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics.
  • 6 years’ experience in the development and certification of avionics systems & equipment.
  • A US Citizen or permanent resident due to export control and ITAR restrictions.
  • Ability to travel.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Aerospace or equivalent discipline.
  • Knowledge of DO-160 environmental qual, ARP4754, ARP 4761, DO-254 hardware design assurance standard for airborne electronic hardware, DO -178 Software Considerations in Airborne Systems and Equipment Certification.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership experience.
  • Knowledge of aircraft wiring and associated documentation is preferred.
  • Knowledge of communication, navigation, surveillance, flight controls, flight management systems is an asset.
  • Demonstrated communication skills with both internal and external customers as well as leadership.
  • Self-directing with ability to manage to schedules & metrics is preferred.
  • A proven ability for fostering excellent customer/certification agency relationships is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and productivity gains through use of collaborative team methods is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for adherence to the Honeywell Aerospace and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Partnering for Safety Plan (PSP).
  • Work with members of leadership from various product groups to ensure TSO projects are compliant with regulations and the Honeywell Aerospace TSO manual.
  • Provide technical leadership to a group of talented professionals who provide expertise to facilitate the successful installation and certification of Honeywell Aerospace products.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to junior level Certification Engineers.
  • Provide guidance in work estimates and project schedules.
  • Coordinate with Aftermarket and Product Program managers.
  • Support technical and certification strategy discussions with customers and internal Honeywell Aerospace stakeholders.
