About The Position

This position serves as the Team Leader for the Sterile Processing Department, overseeing the evening operations. The role involves supervising employees in coordinating, monitoring, and deploying Sterile Processing Department (SPD) products for evening procedures, as well as preparing SPD products for the Operating Room (OR) cases scheduled for the following day.

Requirements

• Sterile Processing Licensure to be considered
• High school diploma

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the evening operation for the department, where employees are supervised in the decontamination and sterilization of products and instruments.
• Coordinates the staff preparation of instrument and supply case picks for the next day's OR cases, using the modified cart system.
• When necessary, performs manual and physical duties of a CSS Technician.
• Maintains standards for sterilization per Joint Commission and regulatory agencies during evening hours.
• Prepares work assignments for staff during evening shift.
• Monitors and educates staff on the use of pick tickets and case cards to ensure 100% accuracy and completion of case carts.
• Transfers critical information on status of sterilization, supplies, and instruments to the department manager.
