Requirements

  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and departments
  • Excellent communication skills, which will be demonstrated in constant daily communication to Leads, Managers & peers. Must be able to effectively prepare and present information
  • Must be able to work flexible shifts, weekend and overtime as business demands
  • Proficient in using computers for data entry, record-keeping, and reporting.

  • Ability to quickly adapt to different tasks and responsibilities while ensuring the same level of attention to food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and address food safety risks. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in monitoring and documenting processes.
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor teams, communicate effectively with cross-functional departments, and drive continuous improvement in food safety practices.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Adobe Acrobat, SharePoint
  • Valid Driver License
  • Capable of learning and understanding food safety regulations (HACCP, GMP, FDA, USDA, etc.) and practice in the food industry.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years relevant work experience, lab, or other QC/Trainer work experience, preferred
  • HACCP certification or similar food safety certification is highly preferred
  • Familiarity with GFSI Audit Standards including SQF and Primus GFSI and/or ISO
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage Critical Control Points (CCPs) and Processing Controls (PCs) in the production process, ensuring compliance with food safety and quality regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
  • Manage and verify the monitoring of all control points to prevent risks and ensure products meet established safety and quality parameters.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of monitoring activities at CCPs. Maintain detailed records of monitoring, corrective actions, and verification processes.
  • Lead corrective actions when deviations or non-conformities are identified, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement solutions.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to team members.
  • Train and guide production staff on proper CCP monitoring, process control measures, and safety protocols to maintain high operational standards
  • Ensure all CCP procedures comply with local, state, and federal regulations. Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and responding to audit findings related to CCPs.
  • Collaborate with production, quality assurance, food safety, and other relevant teams to ensure a cohesive approach to food safety and product quality.
  • Work closely with the Food Safety team to identify areas for improvement in food safety processes and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of food safety-related training programs.
  • Participate in the review and enhancement of food safety policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the investigation and resolution of food safety incidents, customer/consumer complaints, including recalls or potential hazards.
  • Perform other related duties as needed to support the food safety program and the company's goals.
  • Assist with packaging reviews to ensure that all packaging materials meet food safety and regulatory standards.
  • Provide audit support by assisting with internal and external audits, ensuring that all relevant documentation and processes are ready for review.
  • Verify that corrective actions from previous non-conformities or audit findings have been properly implemented and are effective in maintaining compliance.
  • Step in and assist other team members or departments when needed to ensure continuity in food safety practices, particularly during busy periods or staffing shortages.
