About The Position

The Lead Category Analyst is responsible for setting the direction, standards, and impact of merchandising analytics at Love’s. This role leads a team of analysts and delivers high-impact insights, strategic framing, and execution-ready recommendations that enable data-driven decision making across the merchandising organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in a quantitative or business-related field (e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, MIS, Engineering, MBA)
  • 5–8+ years of experience in retail, analytics, data science, or finance
  • 2+ years of people leadership or equivalent experience leading projects/team
  • Advanced pricing and promotional analytics
  • Performance measurement and business impact analysis
  • Proficiency with BI and analytical tools (Tableau, Power BI, Sigma, SQL)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights
  • Strong stakeholder partnership and influence across cross functional teams
  • Clear, concise executive communication and storytelling
  • Ownership mindset with strong execution and follow through
  • Collaborative, adaptable, and customer focused approach
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop junior talent

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and delivery of actionable insights that inform pricing, promotion, and category strategy
  • Ensure analytics outputs are timely, trusted, and aligned to business priorities across Merchandising, LFK, and Marketing
  • Define and standardize performance measurement frameworks for pricing and promotional initiatives
  • Guide the design and optimization of pricing and promotional strategies to drive conversion, basket size, and category growth
  • Oversee pricing audits, promotional effectiveness analyses, and competitive benchmarking to inform strategic decisions
  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to Merchandising and Category leaders
  • Influence decision-making by aligning cross-functional stakeholders
  • Connect analytics to real-world execution through field engagement and deep understanding of customer behavior and store operations
  • Drive clear and consistent communication through executive-ready updates, progress reporting, and project readouts
