About The Position

The Lead Case Manager at Sunny Glen Children’s Home is responsible for providing oversight of case management. The Lead Case Manager will train new case managers and monitor the department’s overall functions and job duties. The Lead Case Manager is expected to provide guidance with reunification and post-reunification recommendations. The Lead Case managers supervise and train case managers and ensure that case managers complete relevant training on child welfare topics. Must provide child-facing services on-site.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must be bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Master’s degree in the behavioral sciences, human services or social services fields or bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of progressive employment experience that demonstrates supervisory and case management experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and the general public.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office, and Excel.
  • Valid Texas Driver's License.
  • Have a record of tuberculosis screening showing the employee is free of contagious TB.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight of the case management department including comprehensive services offered to Children while in care.
  • Communicate effectively with the Lead Reunification Specialist for an overview of audits, reports, and staffing of complex cases.
  • Complete well written documentation
  • Adhere to all timeframes & deadlines as per state, ORR, and internal policies and procedures.
  • Provide continued training for the case management department or other departments as needed Coordinate with third-party contractors, ORR, and other outside service providers to share and staff all pertinent information and updates on children.
  • Coordinate all referrals, service planning, and client documentation for assigned caseload.
  • (Assessments, incident reports, progress notes, etc.)
  • Provide crisis intervention.
  • Prepare, compile, and submit accurate documentation in case management software.
  • Maintain accurate report information as required by ORR and Licensing standards.
  • Maintains a clinical, therapeutic, and trauma-informed view of each child in his/her caseload and helps staff develop this perspective.
  • Assess client progress toward risk reduction, achievement of treatment goals, and positive case outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate records, files, forms, statistics, and additional relevant information in accordance with agency policy, licensing, and/or funding requirements.
  • Act as a liaison with stakeholders, including legal providers and the immigration court.
  • Participate in licensing investigations accordingly.
  • Work evenings, weekend rotations, and holidays as needed to assist with campus emergencies, crises, or ongoing reunification process as requested by the supervisor.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all areas.
  • Actively participate in case staffing meetings
  • Attending training and meetings as scheduled.
  • Participate in weekly staff/team meetings and training.
  • Participate in workshops, seminars, education programs, and other activities that promote professional growth and development.
  • Must abide by Sunny Glen Children’s Home mission of giving nurturing, trauma-informed care to children from difficult backgrounds.

  • Learns and abides by TBRI and Handle with Care -Ability to evacuate/travel if needed due to natural disaster.
