About The Position

To ensure a safe, efficient, and well-maintained hotel environment. This role involves overseeing and assigning work orders, assisting and training other carpenters, and maintaining various aspects of the hotel's infrastructure and decor. The Lead Carpenter is responsible for the upkeep of public areas and guestrooms, including corners, locks, windows, doors, and furniture, ensuring the hotel's aesthetic appeal is maintained. Daily work orders must be filled out, and a thorough understanding of Omni's safety procedures and regulations is required.

Requirements

• Have the knowledge and ability to use the proper equipment and tools.
• Have a thorough understanding of Omni's fire alarm procedures and other emergencies.
• Have a thorough understanding of Omni Hotels rules and regulations.
• Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling and carrying required frequently to respond to requests for service and repairs anywhere in hotel or in parking lot
• Frequent bending and kneeling required to inspect and repair
• 100% mobility required - must respond quickly to emergency
• Stairs - up to approximately 90 steps 20% of each day
• Ladder – up to approximately 8 feet 10% of each day
• Hearing is critical (To hear portable radio, fire alarms, machinery, guests)
• Vision is critical (Inspect, maintain equipment)
• Speech is critical (Must respond on portable radio to base station, guests)
• Literacy is critical (Maintain logs and records)
• Safety shoes required

Responsibilities

• Oversee and assign work orders as needed based on Hotel’s repair requests.
• Assist and train carpenters in repairs as needed.
• Oversee and inspect the carpenter’s portion of the CARE rooms process.
• Maintain all public areas and guestrooms on an on-going basis (corner guards, locks, windows, doors, furniture.)
• Keep the hotel décor in good condition.
• Clean all work areas after completing job.
• Fill out daily work orders.
• Provide service per request on BEO
• Maintain Hard Key & Lock System (BEST)
