About The Position

The primary objective of this Lead Carpenter/Multi-Skilled Tradesman position is to perform skilled carpentry and multi-trade work to maintain, repair, and improve residential units and common areas within the Peace Village community. This role is crucial for ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of craftsmanship, thereby supporting the overall appearance, functionality, and safety of the community.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in carpentry and general construction
  • Strong experience in remodeling residential units (kitchens, bathrooms, etc.)
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Advanced carpentry and construction skills
  • Multi-trade knowledge (flooring, tile, drywall, painting)
  • Basic plumbing and electrical proficiency
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and project scopes
  • Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship

Responsibilities

  • Receive written work orders or verbal instructions from supervisor
  • Perform full unit remodels including kitchens, bathrooms, and living spaces
  • Execute high-quality carpentry work including framing, finish carpentry, trim, and custom builds
  • Install, repair, and maintain flooring including hardwood, laminate, vinyl, and tile
  • Complete tile work for bathrooms, kitchens and backsplashes
  • Perform drywall installation, finishing, and repairs
  • Complete painting and surface finishing projects with professional results
  • Build, install, and repair cabinetry, closets, doors, and fixtures
  • Perform minor to intermediate plumbing and electrical repairs
  • Perform exterior carpentry work including decks and structural repairs
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas at all times
  • Identify maintenance issues proactively and recommend solutions
  • Assist with resident moves, unit turnovers, and model preparation
  • Support other maintenance team members as assigned
  • Work efficiently to meet deadlines, maintain a clean, safe and organized work environment
  • Ensure outstanding customer service in accordance with the mission of Peace Village
