About The Position

Career Team is a leading workforce development organization dedicated to transforming lives through a blend of technology and personalized services. They focus on driving measurable outcomes for job seekers nationwide by utilizing smart software, expert trainers, dedicated case managers, job developers, and strategic partners. Career Team is seeking a Lead Career Advisor to join their Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) program, working with WIOA and unemployed/underemployed adult job seekers. This role involves providing leadership and coaching to Career Advisors, managing internal and external partnerships, approving enrollments and support services, assessing caseloads, reporting monthly, training on WIOA case management, and assisting with daily operations.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or higher
  • 2+ years of experience working in a career center or providing career development services
  • 1+ year of experience working with unemployed and underemployed individuals
  • Ability to give presentations and workshops (public speaking)
  • Demonstrated understanding of WIOA programs and services
  • Demonstrated ability to be highly detail-oriented
  • Knowledgeable about workforce program requirements
  • Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel), PowerPoint, training platforms, and case management or customer relations software applications
  • Exceptional time management skills to meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A Valid Driver’s License

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight and coaching to Career Advisors.
  • Manage internal and external processes for partnership building.
  • Approve enrollment applications and support services.
  • Assess caseload shape.
  • Report monthly.
  • Train in case management activities related to the WIOA program.
  • Assist with the day-to-day operation of the Career Advisors.
  • Serve staff with leadership support.
  • Manage the team’s active caseloads for served programs.
  • Create and maintain all sites and oversee program referral pathway processes.
  • Ensure Career Advisors maintain accurate written case records and files.
  • Assist with complex casework service plans.
  • Assist Career Advisors to mitigate and remove barriers.
  • Assess, manage, and maintain a caseload of new registrants as well as carryover participants.
  • Track clients’ progress in training and job search activities monthly.
  • Case note all interactions with clients.
  • Build strong partnerships with community organizations.
  • Develop and implement strategies to incorporate a focus on performance objectives in daily operations.
  • Help drive customer success and positive outcomes for contractual measures.
  • Provide training and career coaching on assessments to help establish career goals aligned with skill needs.
  • Prepare and present reports of activities and accomplishments.
  • Periodically provide coverage at different locations as needed.
  • Approach each day and task with a “ZAG” mindset.
  • Perform other duties and projects as needed.
