About The Position

On behalf of our client’s private Part 91 Corporate Flight Department, we are seeking an experienced Lead Captain for a Citation XLS based at Miami Executive Airport (TMB). This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned corporate pilot who enjoys a hands-on leadership role while delivering exceptional service to aircraft owners and passengers. The ideal candidate will possess strong command skills, excellent judgment, leadership ability, and a commitment to safety, professionalism, and operational excellence. This position will be a Full Time Contractor role and requires schedule flexibility and the ability to thrive in a dynamic corporate aviation environment.

Requirements

  • Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate.
  • Valid FAA First-Class Medical Certificate.
  • Current or recent experience flying the Citation XLS (or comparable Citation aircraft).
  • Significant Part 91 corporate aviation experience with Pilot in Command responsibility.
  • Demonstrated experience working directly with aircraft owners and executive-level passengers.
  • Strong knowledge of FAA regulations, SOP compliance, and corporate flight operations.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight travel as required.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience as a Lead Captain, Chief Pilot, Check Airman, or senior flight department leader.
  • Experience managing day-to-day flight department operations.
  • Strong customer service mindset with excellent decision-making abilities.
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail.
  • Stable employment history within corporate aviation.
  • Spanish language proficiency is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Pilot in Command (PIC) for Citation XLS operations while ensuring the highest standards of safety, regulatory compliance, and professionalism.
  • Provide operational leadership for day-to-day aircraft operations, including flight planning, flight execution, and post-flight responsibilities.
  • Coordinate closely with maintenance providers, scheduling, FBO personnel, and other operational partners to ensure seamless flight operations.
  • Deliver an exceptional owner and passenger experience through professionalism, discretion, and outstanding customer service.
  • Foster a positive cockpit environment by promoting communication, teamwork, accountability, and a strong safety culture.
  • Maintain all required FAA certifications, training, currency, and aircraft qualifications.
  • Assist with operational planning, scheduling changes, weather considerations, maintenance coordination, and other flight department needs.
  • Represent the flight department with professionalism when interacting with passengers, vendors, airport personnel, and service providers.
  • Support standardization, continuous improvement, and safe operating practices throughout the flight department.
