About The Position

The Information Technology group delivers secure, reliable technology solutions that enable DTCC to be the trusted infrastructure of the global capital markets. The team delivers high-quality information through activities that include development of essential, building infrastructure capabilities to meet client needs and implementing data standards and governance. The IT SIFMU & Risk department supports the development & testing needs of multiple DTCC core business lines including FICC, Clearing & Settlement, Equity Clearing, Wealth Management, Treasury Clearing etc. Lead Test Engineer is responsible for independently leading Test Engineering teams. You will be responsible for developing test plans and implementing those plans against the corresponding test procedures. He should also be accountable for the development of automation scripts, release, and maintenance of test procedures. Serves as a dedicated technology resource for advancing DTCC’s business opportunities and providing industry thought leadership for leveraging new technology. The goal of this new department is to partner internally with IT, our business and regulatory divisions and externally with clients, regulators, and fintech vendors, to help build new platforms and business models to advance DTCC’s mission to support the financial markets.

Requirements

• Preferably from Capital Market domain
• Experienced in Agile/Waterfall, onsite/offshore work model and coordination
• In depth knowledge of the software implementation lifecycle (specifically the testing model, methodology, and processes)
• Experience with Test Engineering methodologies and Test Automation Frameworks
• Extensive experience with testing modern scripting language-based components.
• Experience with front-end & back-end testing using Java and Selenium.
• Experience in writing sophisticated SQL queries.
• Experience with JIRA, Microfocus ALM, Bitbucket, Git, and Jenkins
• Detailed understanding of smoke testing, black-box, and non-black box testing, as well as regression testing
• Experience in estimating, prioritizing, and planning testing activities
• Requires the ability to work well with both business clients and technical team and the ability to work independently, both individually and as part of a team.
• Minimum of 6 years of related experience
• Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience

• Experience with test data management is a plus

Responsibilities

• Prepare, maintain, and execute test cases based on user stories; present results and track defects to closure
• Prepare, maintain, and execute automated test scripts
• Maintain traceability from business requirements through test cases to automated scripts
• Review test cases / automation approach with stakeholder to ensure comprehensive coverage and acquire feedback
• Track test execution breakthroughs, report on issues and risks with the potential to affect project timelines
• Construct appropriate end-2-end business scenarios through the application of a broad understanding of business objectives and goals
• Collaborate with delivery pipeline teams to drive adoption and resolve open issues.
• Identify dependencies for environmental and data requirements; manage and maintain environment and data.
• Provide mentorship to colleagues related to test coverage and test cases
• Develop a detailed understanding of the product being delivered
• Responsible for process compliance & associated documentation
• Aligns risk and control processes into day-to-day responsibilities to supervise and mitigate risk; calls out appropriately
• Test Data management (TDM) – to be able to understand the project requirements, derive Test Data, and set up Test Bed
