About The Position

The Steam Turbine Bucket/Blade Aeromechanic Engineer is responsible for designing and implementing both rotating and stationary Bucket/Blade technologies enabling world-class Steam Turbine performance and efficiency. This is a critical role requiring both system level knowledge of turbomachinery safety (overspeed) and detailed mechanical component expertise to design the power producing component within the turbine.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • 4+ years engineering experience in design turbomachinery rotating components with demonstrated knowledge of blade design (ex: campbell diagrams)
  • Proficiency in English
  • Legal right to work. We will not sponsor individuals for legal permits or visas.

Nice To Haves

  • Prioritize everyday standard work within framework of SQDCC: Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, & Culture
  • Excellent communication skills and intercultural awareness
  • Demonstrated passion for Quality, LEAN, and implementing continuous improvement to deliver for our customers and reducing variation though adoption of standard work
  • Experience in Steam Turbine rotating component design, including ST rotating and stationary bucket/blade designs, design process, tools, & procedures
  • Demonstrated clear thinker, with ability to manage conflict and derive solutions to complicated problems
  • Demonstrated Project leadership skills with the mindset to handle several competing tasks
  • Familiarity with the full manufacturing process including: forgings, machining, and factory assembly/ testing practices, specifically as applied to power generation equipment

Responsibilities

  • Own Steampath bucket/blade component design in execution of NPI, ITR, and factory/field support activities for new units and aftermarket services
  • Drive technology advancements from a Shaftline System, subsystem, component and material / life vantage points
  • Collaborate with global & cross-functional team of internal Steam Turbine Engineers and external stakeholders (Drafting/Global Supply Chain) enabling & fostering mutual technical growth and delivering for our customers.
  • Follow rigorous NPI Tollgate Process from Conceptual Design thru field validation for all bucket/blade component designs across the full spectrum of Gas Power turbine configurations.
  • Lead engineering analysis to ensure robust designs that meet all required CTQs.
  • Demonstrated excellence applying fundamentals of Mechanical Design, including material properties, statics, strength of materials, fluid dynamics, lifing methods related to fatigue (LCF & HCF) and creep.
  • Demonstrated experience with Finite Element Analysis (ANYSIS).
