The Behavioral Heath Technician functions as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to patients ranging in age from adolescents through geriatrics depending on which unit worked. The Lead Behavioral Tech is the point person for the RN regarding any BHT issues that occur during the shift. The Lead Behavioral Health Technician ensures all assigned tasks are completed on the floor, provide guidance/direction to BHT’s and function as Preceptor for new Behavioral Health Technicians. Successful completion of Handle with Care including restraint and seclusion policies, within 30 days of employment, and prior to assisting in restraining procedures.
