About The Position

The Behavioral Heath Technician functions as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to patients ranging in age from adolescents through geriatrics depending on which unit worked. The Lead Behavioral Tech is the point person for the RN regarding any BHT issues that occur during the shift. The Lead Behavioral Health Technician ensures all assigned tasks are completed on the floor, provide guidance/direction to BHT’s and function as Preceptor for new Behavioral Health Technicians. Successful completion of Handle with Care including restraint and seclusion policies, within 30 days of employment, and prior to assisting in restraining procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum of 4 years of combined behavioral health education and work experience OR an Associate degree plus two years of work experience in healthcare OR a Bachelor's degree with one year of related healthcare experience OR a Bachelor's degree in social services or related field.
• May work flexible hours and float to different units.
• Must have or be able to obtain a level one fingerprint clearance card.

Nice To Haves

• Preferred combination of behavioral health education and work experience totaling 4 years.
• Preferred two years of work experience in healthcare with an Associate degree.
• Preferred one-year related healthcare experience with a Bachelor's degree.

Responsibilities
