About The Position

Since its founding in 1985, Queen of Peace Center (QOPC) has been providing family-centered behavioral healthcare for women, children, and families. As a member of the Federation of Catholic Charities, we serve the metropolitan and surrounding St. Louis area through four core programs: prevention, education, treatment, and housing. Under the supervision of the Program Director, the Lead Behavioral Health Technician will perform designated non-clinical tasks that promote overall health and well-being for both inpatient and outpatient clients. This candidate will work on a rotating schedule to ensure that all staff are versed in required tasks and procedures. Provide exceptional direct and supportive services to include crisis management, assist with therapeutic activities, and the facilitation of groups. These duties will be performed in a highly professional and enthusiastic manner in direct alignment with the mission, vision and values of Queen of Peace Center.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma/GED or associate's degree and 2 years’ experience in a residential setting or 5 years minimum experience in a residential setting with certifications
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Missouri Class E driver’s license or another comparable license

Responsibilities

  • Coach new and existing Behavioral Health Technicians
  • Complete chart audits
  • Assist with client enrollment into the program
  • Complete trainings on intake, orientation, and how to take and chart vital signs
  • Complete safety check of client’s personal belongings
  • Work collaboratively with the Residential Managers to assist with scheduling and organize monthly meetings
  • Document all concerns related to client's behavior in daily shift log and in Electronic Health Record
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Listen to team members’ feedback and escalate to the Program Manager(s) to develop a course of action
  • Motivate team performance and monitor productivity
  • Assure that all state regulations are followed as it pertains to proper documentation of group logs and following safety and programmatic protocols
  • Adhere to medication policies and work collaboratively with nursing staff to ensure all medication protocols are followed and charted accurately and appropriately
  • Discover training needs and provide coaching
  • Facilitate assigned and scheduled groups
  • Screen and monitor detoxification clients
  • Other duties as assigned
