About The Position

The Lead Bartender assists, under the direction of the Beverage Manager / Director, in the curation, creation, and execution management of the Cocktail and Spirits program for the restaurant with a concentration on the Lounge area and team. This role involves ensuring guest satisfaction, upholding service standards, and contributing to the development and training of the bar team. The Lead Bartender will also be involved in beverage procurement, inventory management, marketing content creation, and event planning.

Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge of craft cocktails and spirits.
  • Competent with Windows-based computers and Microsoft Office.
  • Familiar with industry standard software.
  • Demonstrates enthusiasm for all things 21c.
  • Must pass a background check.
  • Some college education.
  • Two to four years in a high volume, high quality bar and/or restaurant operation.
  • Minimum one year as a bartender.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure total guest satisfaction and the finest quality of food and beverage.
  • Provide the highest and most efficient level of food and beverage service.
  • Hold the lounge team to 21c service standards.
  • Constantly seek improvement in self, team, and what we deliver.
  • Engage with guests and teammates to promote beverage program awareness and sales.
  • Cultivate a following of regulars.
  • Stay aware of market trends, creative ideas, and new products.
  • Create total awareness of in-house VIPs and review names with staff during pre-service meetings.
  • Handle FOH F&B (Events included) Staffing responsibilities.
  • Screen Lounge / Bar team applicants in the interview process.
  • Provide approval / denial recommendations for restaurant Bar positions.
  • Work with the scheduling manager to ensure all bar team beverage training is scheduled and complete for new hires.
  • Assist in upholding property Alcohol policies within 21c, state, and municipality guidelines.
  • Assist with tracking and ensuring teammate alcohol license compliancy.
  • Work to keep teammate morale high.
  • Coach employees on efficient teamwork.
  • Enforce proper dress guidelines for all teammates.
  • Train and develop the team, including verbal and written quizzes on cocktails and spirits.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of beverage training policies for Bar positions.
  • Ensure the Bar/Lounge Team adheres to all beverage operational systems and assist in incorporating them into training systems.
  • Maintain steps of Beverage service protocols and Beverage standards of service in Bar / Lounge areas.
  • Ensure all Beverage training, policies, systems, product + menu information are built and maintained within MISEbox.
  • Assist with Alcoholic Beverage procurement and inventory management.
  • Conduct monthly inventories.
  • Work with the team to incorporate and maintain compliancy to all 21c and Ennismore brand partnerships.
  • Work with F&B Management and Brand / Marketing Team to develop and provide content for the Beverage Program.
  • Concept, curate, plan, and execute specialty Beverage and Culinary events.
  • Be current and comfortable with being on camera and in media interviews.
  • Curate, manage and maintain cocktail and spirits lists on all Restaurant beverage menus.
  • Assist in the selection, inventory, and maintenance for Beverage glassware, tools, and equipment.
  • Attend Manager and Bar Meetings.
  • Stay on top of communication via property Network and Email in a timely manner.
  • Stay on top of maintenance of the Beverage Inventory System.
  • Contribute to MiseBox (Teammate Training Software).
  • Report to work on time and ready to work scheduled shift.
  • Maintain a positive, friendly attitude with teammates and guests.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly appearance of self and all F&B operations areas.
  • Assist/execute any and all tasks as assigned by the F&B Director and Assistant F&B Director.
  • Embrace new ideas and adapt to rapidly changing circumstances.
  • Identify and seek solutions for problem areas.
