About The Position

We are seeking a Lead AWS DevOps Engineer to define and document best practices and strategies for application deployment and infrastructure maintenance. This role involves designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting platform services related to CI/CD pipelines, as well as configuring monitoring and alerting systems. The Lead AWS DevOps Engineer will collaborate with leadership to ensure the team adheres to architectural, technical, functional, and performance guidelines for CI/CD pipelines. This position also includes defining service capacity planning strategies and implementing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or the AWS CI/CD stack. The role requires writing infrastructure as code using CloudFormation, CDK, or similar tools, and experience with monitoring solutions like CloudWatch, Prometheus, and the ELK stack. The ideal candidate will be responsible for enhancing application scalability and reliability, understanding the Software Development Life Cycle and Agile methodologies, and overseeing CI/CD pipelines to maximize productivity. Exposure to Agile practices is also expected.

Requirements

  • Experience with the core AWS services, plus the specifics mentioned in this job description.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes; Having used ECS or EKS.
  • Knowledge of tools like Helm, Artifactory, SonarQube, etc.
  • Experience with building or maintaining cloud-native applications.
  • Good background in Linux/Unix administration.
  • Knowledge of writing infrastructure as code (IaC) using CloudFormation or Terraform.
  • Previous exposure to large-scale systems design.
  • Proficiency in at least one language from our stack: C# TypeScript.
  • Strong notions of security best practices (e.g. using IAM Roles, KMS, etc.).
  • Ability to troubleshoot distributed systems.
  • Experience with monitoring solutions such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, and the ELK stack.
  • Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle and Agile methodologies.
  • Understand the current application infrastructure and suggest changes to it.
  • Exposure to Agile practices/Methodologies.
