About The Position

Lanteris Space Systems is seeking a Lead Avionics Electrical Design Engineer, with a focus on digital electronics and firmware design, to join our Bus Electronics Design team. This is a hands-on, on-site position located in San Jose, CA. The Bus Electronics team is responsible for the design, verification, and manufacturing support for the electronics that enable our reputable, reliable, high-powered spacecraft. Our spacecraft span pLEO to deep space, enabling national defense, earth observation & communications, and interplanetary space exploration such as NASA’s Psyche Discovery Program and SR-1 Freedom mission to Mars. In this role, you will act as the engineering focal for one or several avionics units for different Lanteris Space products, with an emphasis in proliferated LEO (pLEO) constellations applications. Collaborating closely with a cohort of electrical, mechanical, test and system engineers, you will develop electrical schematics, firmware code, PCB board layouts, specifications and execute test activities in the laboratory. You will provide technical leadership and provide guidance to other engineers to complete the overall design of the Bus Electronics units. This is an exciting opportunity to be the owner from concept to verification, production and operation of avionics hardware for space applications.
