About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY TransMedics has initiated a national program for organ retrieval and organ management with the goal of increasing utilization of donor organs for transplant using the Organ Care System (OCS) technology platform in conjunction with our best-in-class Logistics Command Center. Transplant Logistics is a recently created organization responsible for leading all aspects of TransMedics’ transplant logistics, enabling the exponential growth of the National OCS Program (NOP). The team’s comprehensive scope includes data analytics, network and topology design, capacity planning, product and program management, and the daily execution of air and ground transplant logistics operations, managed by a world-class central command center operating 24/7 in Andover, MA. The Lead, Aircraft Maintenance Controller will provide oversight and support of the day to day Maintenance Control Department activities to the satisfaction of the Senior Manager, Aviation Maintenance Control and Director of Maintenance.

Requirements

Minimum of 7 years of experience in at least one of the related fields or a combination of both: Corporate Aviation Maintenance or Military Aviation Maintenance
Valid and violation free Airframe and Powerplant certificate always.
Maintain a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Work to ensure 24 hour coverage of Maintenance Control to include all duties related to that of a Maintenance Controller if and when necessary. This includes management of sick calls and time off requests.
Ensure logical, effective, and fiscally responsible practices are being followed by the Team.
Provide oversite and ensure timely, professional, and thorough communication is taking place to all department customers, both internal and external.
Ensure Company SOP’s are followed in detail to align with all Company manuals.
Provide audit results of Company software suites to ensure best practices are followed and data used to schedule flights and or maintenance events are accurate.
Identify and help resolve conflicts or shortfalls related to Maintenance Controllers.
Negate or minimize all risks to the Part 135 Certificate as it relates to Maintenance Control decision making.
Review prominent aircraft software download packages to facilitate preventive maintenance or expedited resolution of AOG events. This could include CMC, FDR, and EEC downloads.
Ensure all maintenance activities are conducted with current FAA regulations and OEM approved data.
Perform other TransMedics tasks and duties as assigned/required.
