We are seeking a dedicated, highly skilled Lead AV Studio Specialist to serve as the sole on-site technical authority responsible for the continuous, peak-level operation of this critical, high-performance facility. This is a specialized, hands-on role that requires a highly proactive approach, deep knowledge of professional broadcast technology, and the ability to operate effectively in high-pressure, live production environments.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of dedicated, hands-on experience in a professional broadcast, corporate studio, or demanding live production environment.
  • Ross Video Ecosystem Proficiency: Demonstrated experience configuring and operating Ross Carbonite switchers, Ultrix routers, and TouchDrive panels is highly preferred.
  • PTZ Camera Operation: Proven ability to operate robotic cameras (specifically Panasonic UE series) in a live broadcast setting, utilizing presets and smooth manual control.
  • Networked Audio Expertise: Strong working knowledge of Dante audio networking, including routing via Dante Controller and managing Shure ULXD wireless frequency coordination.
  • Streaming & Recording: Familiarity with high-fidelity recording formats (ProRes/DNxHR via AJA Ki Pro) and hardware encoders (Epiphan Pearl, AJA HELO).
  • Signal Flow Mastery: Strong theoretical and practical understanding of 12G-SDI, NDI, and HDMI signal paths, as well as signal conversion and scaling (AJA ROI/Hi5).
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, a high level of accountability, and the ability to function effectively under pressure in a live environment.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently as the local technical lead.
  • Applicant must be authorized to work in the country where this position is located.

Nice To Haves

  • Ross Video Ecosystem Proficiency: Demonstrated experience configuring and operating Ross Carbonite switchers, Ultrix routers, and TouchDrive panels is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical operator for all live and pre-recorded studio productions, including broadcasts, webinars, and internal video shoots.
  • Operate and manage critical studio systems in real-time.
  • Lead pre-production checks, signal flow testing, and full technical readiness audits for every scheduled shoot.
  • Take ownership of the studio's technical health by performing routine preventative maintenance and firmware updates on the specific studio stack (Ross OpenGear frames, Shure wireless frequencies, and Raritan KVM systems).
  • Manage the complex Dante audio network, ensuring proper clocking and routing between Shure receivers, Yamaha I/O racks, and mixing consoles.
  • Diagnose and rapidly resolve any technical failures across the specialized studio ecosystem, mitigating risk to production schedules.
  • Maintain accurate and current technical documentation, including wiring schematics, operational procedures, and equipment logs.
  • Perform maintenance and performance checks on meeting rooms in the NY office.
  • Act as the sole, local AV technical expert, reporting on the status and needs of the New York studio to the broader technology and content teams.
  • Provide technical consultation, support, and guidance to production staff and on-screen talent regarding teleprompter usage and IFB communications.
  • Conduct research and recommend necessary system upgrades or modifications to maintain the studio's "state-of-the-art" capabilities.
