About The Position

At Manheim (a Cox Automotive company), we’re hiring a Lead Maintenance Tech with skills and savvy to spare. This role involves serving as a master-level auto tech performing heavy duty work and providing direction, guidance and technical expertise to shop personnel. You will perform a wide range of repairs, including brakes, drivability, steering, suspension, electrical, safety inspections, AC and major engine. You will also perform advanced diagnostics and complete repairs, including clutch and transmission replacement. You will work with individual techs as required to assess specific vehicle needs, provide general guidance/direction or train associates in supporting roles and/or less experienced associates. Additionally, you will perform quality control checks on all work, notify the supervisor of exceptional or unsatisfactory work, and ensure auto maintenance standard operating procedures and activities are conducted to deliver desired outcomes. You will identify developmental opportunities in staff, monitor workflow processes and recommend areas to improve productivity, and review and approve ordering and disposition of parts, supplies and materials. You will also alert management about difficult issues, patterns and trends, and model safety behaviors and ensure techs comply with all health, safety and environmental requirements.

Requirements

  • Safe drivers needed; valid driver’s license required.
  • 7+ years of automotive service and repair experience.
  • The ability to drive standard, automatic and electric vehicles.

Nice To Haves

  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • ASE Certifications: A1-9, (L1 in emission states) when required by leadership

Responsibilities

  • Performing the responsibilities of a level 1 - level 3 auto tech.
