About The Position
Main Street Auto is seeking a Lead Automotive Technician to join their high-performing, fast-paced team. This role involves performing advanced diagnostics and repairs, leading and mentoring a team of technicians, collaborating with Service Advisors, and staying current with automotive technology. The Lead Technician will be responsible for ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and top-quality service, while also contributing to a positive customer experience.
Requirements
- 5+ years of automotive repair experience (diagnostic experience required)
- Proven leadership/mentorship experience in a shop environment
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and engine systems
- Proficient with diagnostic tools and shop software
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

Responsibilities
- Performing advanced diagnostics and repairs on various makes and models
- Leading and mentoring a team of technicians; assigning tasks and ensuring deadlines are met
- Collaborating with Service Advisors to build accurate estimates
- Keeping up with evolving auto tech, tools, and safety standards
- Maintaining clean and organized workspaces and repair documentation
- Creating a great customer experience by clearly explaining services and repairs
