About The Position

Germain Ford is seeking an experienced Lead Automotive Technician to join their team. This is a full-time position offering competitive flat-rate pay. Requirements

Ford Master Technician certification (or actively in progress) — required
Minimum 5 years of automotive technician experience, with Ford dealership experience strongly preferred
Proven proficiency with Ford IDS/FDRS, oscilloscopes, and manufacturer-level diagnostic tools
Deep working knowledge of gasoline and diesel engine systems, transmissions, chassis, brakes, HVAC, and electrical networks
Strong communication skills — written, verbal, and the ability to clearly document repair findings
Ability to quickly and accurately identify root causes and develop effective repair strategies
Adaptable and eager to learn new vehicle technologies, platforms, and service procedures
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Must successfully complete pre-employment background check, drug screening, and motor vehicle report

Nice To Haves

Senior Master Technician designation (all three Master categories completed, 5+ years at a Ford/Lincoln dealership) is a strong differentiator and is strongly preferred for this Lead role.

Responsibilities

Execute repair orders with precision, efficiency, and adherence to dealership and Ford quality standards
Diagnose and repair all vehicle systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, and climate control using Ford IDS/FDRS and other diagnostic equipment
Lead by example — mentor junior technicians and contribute to a high-performing shop culture
Communicate proactively with Service Advisors to ensure customers are informed of additional repair needs and receive accurate time estimates
Maintain a clean, organized workstation and ensure all customer vehicles are returned in pristine condition
Stay current with Ford technical service bulletins, new model training, and evolving EV/hybrid technology
Operate all tools, lifts, and diagnostic equipment in a safe and professional manner
