About The Position

This position exists to lead a group of operators with varied skill levels on various equipment in the Automation department.

  • Must be able to enter data into a computer by use of a keyboard and mouse and be able to sit for long periods at a desk
  • Occasionally visit employees in other departments to gather data and clarify information

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Green Belt Certified preferred
  • Minimum of 4 years of automation operation experience operating automated production equipment preferred
  • Previous people leadership experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Leads, trains, and directs team to accomplish production goals
  • Responsible for reviewing daily pass-downs and making corrections, as necessary
  • Collaborates with other department Leads as needed
  • Set up and operate a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines
  • Uses computer and manually -controlled equipment to select positions and secure automatic or semi-automatic machines
  • Works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function
  • Controls and adjusts machine settings to complete more complex tasks, and in a timely fashion
  • Performs minor Preventative Maintenance on equipment as needed
  • Manages Discrepant Material Reports (DMR) within the department
  • May calculate and assist with CNC programming
  • Proficient in multiple types of equipment at a high level relevant to the job
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues
  • Repairs equipment with minimal assistance, within the associated training guidelines
  • Communicate any issues regarding the functionality of the machines to necessary personnel
  • High-level understanding of precision measuring tools and the usage of tooling for machine repairs and/or adjustments
  • Perform daily housekeeping operations in the work area to maintain a safe workplace
  • Documents and reports personnel issues to Department Supervisor
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
