About The Position

This role is responsible for performing and controlling a combination of manual or automated tasks necessary for the receipt, storage, and shipment of product. This may include functions of receiving, picking, packing, shipping, staging, transporting, and storage. The position also ensures the efficient flow of products from receipt from vendors to shipment to customers, while adhering to service parameters. The Lead Associate works closely with management to maintain standards, supports supervisors in leading team efforts, and ensures adherence to regulations and safety protocols. They coordinate workflow, handle employee inquiries, solve problems, maintain positive employee relations, and promote a team environment. Planning daily workloads, leading safety and quality discussions, and maintaining productivity are key aspects of this role.

Requirements

Excellent interpersonal, organizational and follow up skills preferred
4+ years experience preferred
Proficient in Microsoft office
Good written communication skills
High School Diploma or GED preferred
Previous material handling equipment experience (MHE) preferred
Radio frequency (RF) scanner
Ability to consistently lift up to 50 Ibs and be able to bend, reach, stoop, lift and stand for entire shift of 8 hours or more required
Able and willing to work in refer 36°F-42°F for up to 8 Hours or longer
Must be able to work overtime with little to no advance notice
Willingness to learn to operate material handling equipment and rotate into various areas of the warehouse
Work at heights up to 25 feet consistently
Adherence to site safety regulations including wearing required personal protective equipment such as steel toed safety shoes, and material handling equipment safety harness; accountable to Cardinal Health’s EHS as well as QRA policies and procedures.
Aptitude to work in a fast paced distribution environment while meeting hourly established distribution quotas and performance standards
Self-motivated with ability to work in a team-oriented environment with limited supervision and an emphasis on customer satisfaction
Ability to comprehend and accurately process paperwork in accordance with policies and procedures
Familiarity with Microsoft office products and general computer skills desired
Flexibility/adaptability coupled with good multi-tasking skills

Responsibilities

Works closely with management to maintain receiving standards and ensure that proper processes are followed
Support the supervisor in leading the team’s efforts in adhering to all government (OSHA, DEA, SBOP, FDA) regulations as well as safety, security and cleanliness of the warehouse
Ensures that Cardinal Health’s principles, policies and procedures are consistently practiced
Coordinate workflow to accomplish overall business objectives (i.e., pick, pack and ship on time and accurately, cycle counts, returns, and clean-up). Fill in and perform functional tasks (i.e., stock, label totes) daily where/when necessary
Handles general employee inquiries and solves problems
Maintains positive employee relations; promotes team environment and facilitates process improvement
Work closely with other leads and supervisors within the facility to promote teamwork
Plan daily workload and assignments
Lead safety and quality discussions while maintaining productivity
Applies extensive knowledge and company policies to complete a wide range of assignments
Demonstrates expert understanding of all levels of the job family and has a thorough knowledge of jobs outside the area of responsibility
Takes the lead in effectively applying new processes and skills in accomplishing assignments
May provide technical guidance and training to others
Maintains appropriate licenses, training, and certifications
Works on complex problems that require independent action and a high degree of initiative to resolve the issue
Makes recommendations for new or revised processes and has a role in the implementation
