About The Position

The Lead Assembler is responsible for leading a team of assemblers over multiple product families. Duties include communicating with employees, management, and sales regarding daily assembly requirements and implementing safety, quality, delivery, and cost improvements.

Requirements

  • High School Degree/GED required
  • Experience with electronic assembly required
  • Demonstrates strong mechanical aptitude along with the ability to read prints and measure parts while maintaining a customer-focused mentality required
  • Ability to work extended hours and occasional weekend shifts as needed required
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with others across the organization to achieve shared objectives.
  • Communication: Convey information and ideas clearly and concisely to individuals or groups in an engaging manner that helps them understand and retain the message; listen actively to others.

  • Must be able to wear personal protective gear most of the day.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of experience in assembly/leadership desired
  • Lean 101 training preferred
  • Experience in a Lean environment preferred

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the day-to-day operation by leading and directing a group of employees to assure a smooth workflow; Organize, schedule, and coordinate workloads and staff to meet production schedule.
  • Reads and follows specifications and other instructions in order to build and assemble products and examining completed work to detect defects and verify conformance to work orders, correct any problems
  • Provide a thorough technical understanding of production and assembly practices.
  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follow prescribed safety procedures
  • Acts as liaison, representing the team in general; point of contact for general assembly and quality control questions
  • Trains new employees and instructs employees on the proper use of equipment and tools
  • Display strong verbal and written communication skills to communicate with Managers, Planning and Customer Service.
  • Provide input to improve assembly processes with a focus on safety, quality, on-time delivery and cost.
