This role involves performing complex sub-assembly and final assembly processes, optimizing procedures for maximum efficiency, and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues. You will also be responsible for mentoring and cross-training other assemblers, ensuring product quality and reliability through the use of various measuring and testing devices, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. The Lead Assembler must be able to support all product lines through cross-training and is responsible for the training of all other assemblers and workflow within the assigned cells.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 7+ years of experience in manufacturing.
  • 3-5 years in a lead role responsible for the direction of others work.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to teach others with compassion and understanding that all people learn differently.
  • Ability to perform manual dexterity tasks, including using hand and small power tools.
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, climb, or crouch in order to perform assembly tasks.
  • Ability to distinguish colors, as well as good eyesight and hearing in order to read schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams, and to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time while conducting tests or calibrations.
  • Must have ability to be Cross trained to support all product lines.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Experience with multimeters, hi-pot and ground bond meters, megohm meters and factory testers.
  • Experience with soldering.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex sub-assembly processes and optimize procedures for maximum efficiency according to established specifications and instructions.
  • Perform final assembly of products according to established specifications and instructions and optimize procedures for maximum efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues within the process, and repair issues as needed, utilizing advanced knowledge of electronic fundamentals and logic.
  • Use various measuring and testing devices to ensure product quality and reliability, including but not limited to: multimeters, hi-pot and ground bond meters, megohm meters and factory testers.
  • Mentor and cross train other assemblers, providing guidance and support as needed to ensure quality and efficiency and flexibility in the production team.
  • Follow established assembly procedures to ensure quality production.
  • Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams to assemble components.
  • Use hand and small power tools, such as screwdrivers, wrenches, and drills, to assemble components.
  • Assemble components, fixtures, and accessories according to established specifications and instructions.
  • Perform final assembly of components, fixtures, and accessories.
  • Follow safety procedures and guidelines in the assembly process.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Perform the final assembly of sub-assembled parts according to established specifications and instructions, including but not limited to mechanical assembly, electrical wiring, and soldering.
  • Perform final assembly of products according to established specifications and instructions, including but not limited to installation of hardware, programming of electronic components, and final quality control checks.
  • Understand how to manage Kanban flow, OTD and other plant metrics.
  • Responsible for the training of all other assemblers and workflow within the assigned cells.
