About The Position

The Lead Archery Guide oversees gear management, training, and procurement for archery and select outdoor activities. As a professional educator and outdoorsperson, the ideal candidate balances technical expertise with unparalleled customer service. This role is essential in ensuring guests receive an experience consistent with the standards set for Forbes Five-Star properties and members of Relais & Chateaux.

Requirements

  • Minimum of one year of employment at The Ranch at Rock Creek.
  • Demonstrated proficiency and consistent high-level performance as a full-time employee.
  • Capability and readiness to expertly lead at least five distinct guest activities.
  • Proven track record of demonstrating initiative and proactive problem-solving in the workspace.
  • Commitment to exceeding expectations, contributing to the property's success, and pursuing continuous personal and professional development.
  • Dedication to expanding the knowledge base of the entire guide team through active participation and leadership in training.
  • Strong organizational skills with a highly reliable history of following through on assigned tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the departmental budget, including timely purchasing and capital expenditure requests for the archery facilities.
  • Maintain accurate records of all receipts and invoices to ensure financial accountability.
  • Cultivate and manage vendor relationships and accounts.
  • Oversee the continuous maintenance, repair, and inventory of all related activity gear.
  • Develop, update, and serve as the owner of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for designated activities.
  • Design and facilitate comprehensive training programs for staff, conducting sessions both in the field and in formal settings.
  • Identify operational needs and prepare tasks for designated areas (including archery, frontier skills, and paintball), effectively communicating with management to implement solutions.
  • Lead and coordinate large group activities requiring multiple guides across departments, such as survival skills, paintball, and corporate ranch events.
  • Evaluate the skill levels of the guide team and provide strategic feedback and consultation to Activities management.
