About The Position

The Lead Application Engineer is an established leader within an engineering team and drives business strategy through detailed technical and economic understanding of the marketplace. The role takes initiative to help business leaders provide customers with solutions that positively impact the business and serves as the technological point person throughout the Inquiry to Order (ITO) phase. The position develops technical solutions and estimates for proposals, including configuration, performance, economics, technical specifications, assumptions, exceptions, design and deliverables, installation scope, cost allocation, bills of materials, and engineering, installation, testing, and commissioning effort. It works with commercial, proposal, sourcing, project management, and multidisciplinary engineering teams on projects involving utility, industrial, and renewable substations; protection and control and equipment programs; systems and communications; and balance-of-plant projects, including FACTS and HVDC segments. The role supports proposal quality and competitiveness, technical studies, customer presentations, subcontractor and power-equipment bid packages, and the development of estimation methodologies, templates, and libraries. This is a remote position with up to 20% travel, potentially including international travel. The position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus. The stated U.S. pay range is $89,300 to $148,700, with geographic differentials in certain areas. The posting is for a new vacancy.
