About The Position

Destination Pet is seeking a confident, compassionate, and capable Lead Animal Care Attendant to join their team at Animal Tender Pet Resort. This role involves guiding daily operations, managing pet care, and leading a team. Destination Pet is a community focused on elevating the lives of pet families, offering services like day care, boarding, grooming, training, and veterinary services. Their goal is to make pets feel at home and their humans feel at ease.

Requirements

High school diploma required.
Previous work experience in animal care.
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
Availability on evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Willingness to be on feet most of the shift, including standing, walking, and climbing stairs.
Comfort with exposure to cleaning supplies, pet hair, and pet accidents.
Ability to lead by example, scoop, scrub, and step in when needed.
Calm under pressure.
Confidence in guiding and supporting teammates.

Nice To Haves

Med administration experience.
CPR training.
Med-savvy or CPR trained.

Responsibilities

Leading the pack during assigned shifts, coaching, guiding, and setting the tone for pet care excellence.
Working alongside Animal Care Attendants to ensure safety, cleanliness, and a positive environment for pets.
Training new hires on proper pet handling, procedures, and facility operations.
Monitoring pet guests for health, safety, and reporting any concerns to management.
Serving food, fresh water, and providing daily care to all pet guests.
Overseeing medication administration and care for special needs guests.
Bathing and brushing pets.
Maintaining cleanliness and a pleasant environment within the facility.
Other duties as assigned.
