About The Position

Destination Pet is seeking a Lead Animal Care Attendant to join their team at Dog Dayz. This role involves guiding daily operations, ensuring pet safety and cleanliness, and leading a team of Animal Care Attendants. The ideal candidate is compassionate, confident, and capable of managing various tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Requirements

Obsession with animals and a demonstrated passion for their well-being.
Previous work experience in animal care.
Medication administration experience.
Ability to lead by example, demonstrating strong work ethic in all tasks.
Calm demeanor under pressure, especially during challenging situations.
Confidence in guiding and supporting teammates.
High school diploma.
Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, and handle leashed dogs for most of the shift.
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
Availability on evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Willingness to work with cleaning supplies, pet hair, and handle pet accidents.

Nice To Haves

Med-savvy or CPR trained.
CPR training is a big plus.

Responsibilities

Leading the pack during assigned shifts, coaching, guiding, and setting the tone for pet care excellence.
Working alongside Animal Care Attendants to ensure safety, cleanliness, and a positive environment for pets.
Training new hires on proper pet handling, procedures, and facility protocols.
Monitoring pet guests for health, safety, and reporting any concerns to management.
Administering food, fresh water, and providing daily care to all pet guests.
Overseeing medication administration and care for special needs guests.
Bathing and brushing pets.
Maintaining cleanliness and a pleasant environment within the facility.
Other duties as assigned.
