In this role, the Health Educator will focus their time on two major priorities. First will be ensuring that local health departments across Indiana are adequately educated and trained to perform case management for children with elevated blood lead levels. This is done using a remote training platform and through on-site face-to-face education performed at health departments around the state. Second, is working with healthcare providers and parents to ensure children under 7 are being adequately tested for lead in their blood, and that those test results are being reported to the State. Work is primarily performed at IDOH’s main office in Indianapolis, but day travel up to 1-2 times per week across the state may be required.
