Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and meet DCFS licensing requirements
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Passion for early childhood education and a love of learning through play
High School Diploma or equivalent (Assistant Teacher)
Experience working with children preferred (Assistant Teacher)
Ability to support a play-based curriculum and engage actively with children (Assistant Teacher)
A CDA or Some college credits in any field with a commitment to enroll in and complete 6 hours of online or in-person courses in Early Childhood Education within a year of employment at Goddard ( We can pay for this! ) or A Bachelor's degree in an early childhood field. (Lead Teacher)

Responsibilities

Establish and maintain a safe, healthy, and nurturing classroom environment
Engage with children through meaningful play, early learning experiences, and hands-on discovery
Support each child’s social–emotional development with positive guidance
Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities (Lead Teachers)
Build warm, trusting relationships with families
Communicate daily with professionalism, empathy, and clarity
Partner with families to support children's development
Work closely with co-teachers and directors to uphold schoolwide expectations
Maintain classroom organization, cleanliness, and routines
Attend staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities
Create lesson plans aligned with Goddard developmental guidelines
Maintain individual child portfolios and progress reports
Support classroom transitions and routines with consistency and kindness
