About The Position

The Lead Analytics Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing and optimizing data strategies throughout various platforms, with a focus on data integrity, security and efficient pipelines. This individual plays a crucial role in ensuring that the organization’s data is aligned with business needs and requirements of the company. The Lead Analytics Engineer assumes responsibility for leveraging data assets by designing robust solutions, ensuring integrity and adhering to governance frameworks.

Requirements

  • A B.S. or B.A. degree in business administration, data science, information science or related field; specialized financial services training preferred.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of related experience normally required.
  • Strong expertise with Snowflake architecture and best practices in cloud data.
  • Hands-on experience migrating data workflows to Snowflake or other cloud-native platforms.
  • Solid SQL and Python programming skills for data analysis and automation.
  • Report writing experience using query and visualization tools.
  • Familiarity with data governance principles and integration of governance/data science tools (dbt Core/Cloud experience).
  • Leadership and planning; team building and coaching; advanced project management; proficient SQL and Python experience; advanced analytical skills, advanced reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; excellent interpersonal relations and communicative skills; proficiency in analyzing, interpreting, and implementing strategy; proficient composition skills; competency with PC and software operations; ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach with hands or arms, use hands to manipulate objects, handle or feel, and lift items weighing 20 lbs. or less; visual, auditory, and speaking skills.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, implements, and manages scalable data models and solutions using Snowflake, SQL, Azure, and other tools.
  • Leads the migration of data from traditional relational databases, and other applications to Snowflake.
  • Ensures data integrity and optimizes workflows within Snowflake.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to integrate data governance and science tools.
  • Creates, implements, and maintains effective and relevant management reporting solutions for various business units.
  • Establishes data-related goals and aligns them with business objectives.
  • Suggests new information-based solutions to help drive efficiencies and informed decision-making.
  • Designs and implements data collection and process improvements to improve the efficiency of the group’s reporting and the quality of output provided to other stakeholders.
  • Works with leadership, Information Security and Risk Management to develop data governance and best practice standards.
  • Prepares departmental reporting based on metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor as requested, or according to an established schedule; compiles information as necessary or as directed and provides data to appropriate personnel.
  • Maintains regulatory compliance and sound operating environments by writing, updating, and adhering to policy and procedures.
  • Plays an active role in protecting the organization and its customers against fraud by incorporating risk awareness and prevention into daily responsibilities.
