Lead Aircraft MX Technician
About The Position
The Lead Aircraft Maintenance Technician will coordinate with the Maintenance Supervisor for the scheduling and assignment of daily jobs. This role involves leading and directing subordinate crew members in the performance of job tasks, ensuring productivity and work quality are satisfactory, and that all identified issues are resolved in a timely manner. The Lead Technician will also assist subordinate crew members with interpreting maintenance manuals and the Kalitta Air Storage program, ensuring all maintenance performed is in accordance with AMM, SRM, and the storage program. Additionally, this position is responsible for ensuring all maintenance actions are properly documented, providing OJT as necessary, and ensuring all subordinate CBT training is current. The Lead Technician will assist in identifying safety-related deficiencies and perform other duties as assigned by the maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Manager, including generating unscheduled work orders.
Requirements
- Must be able to work overtime, weekends and days off.
- FAA Airframe license required.
- High school graduate
- 5 years min experience in maintenance and repair of commercial category aircraft
- Ability to read, write and understand spoken and written English.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to give verbal and written directions to assigned staff.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with the Maintenance Supervisor for the scheduling and assignment of daily jobs.
- Lead and direct subordinate crewmembers in the performance of job tasks.
- Ensure that productivity and work quality is satisfactory.
- Ensure that all identified issues are resolved in a timely manner.
- Assist subordinate crew members with interpreting maintenance manuals and Kalitta Air Storage program.
- Ensure that all maintenance performed by subordinate crewmembers is in accordance with AMM, SRM, storage program, ect.
- Ensure that all maintenance actions performed by subordinate crew members are properly documented.
- Provide OJT as necessary to subordinate crewmembers.
- Ensure all subordinate CBT training is current, including equipment used in their daily routines.
- Assist subordinate crew members in the accomplishment of assigned tasks.
- Assist Maintenance Supervisor in identifying any safety related deficiencies.
- Any other duties as assigned by the maintenance Supervisor, Maintenance Manager.
- Generate unscheduled work orders
