Lead Accountant - Wholesale
About The Position
Sunoco LP is looking for a Senior Accountant to join the fast growing Midstream Operational Accounting team! Sunoco LP is one of America's largest and most efficient terminalling and storage providers. This individual will perform a variety of accounting functions including, but not limited to: Assist with financial analysis of Sunoco LP midstream terminal locations, including inventory, margin and operating expenses Work with internal and external customers to research accounting variances, disputes and complex transactions Assist with purchase accounting and integration efforts on Sunoco mergers and acquisitions Compiling and preparing of intermediate to high level/technical journal entries to general ledger accounts Assist management with ad hoc projects and process improvements Ensure compliance with SOX controls Apply the financial policies and procedures of the organization and inform management of inconsistencies and problems. Performs audit tasks, as well as various duties and projects assigned by management Serves customers by maintaining our philosophy of going above and beyond, supported by a value proposition that every situation will be handled in a timely manner Represents Company interests with the highest standards of professionalism.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree and 8 years of related experience.
- Strong experience in SAP S/4 FIORI/Winshuttle.
- Strong analytic and data analysis skills required, especially MS Excel.
- Must display good judgment and be able to work independently, as needed.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Must be flexible, adaptable and have a high level of initiative.
Nice To Haves
- Prior fuel inventory and general ledger accounting experience preferred
- Experience working with Right Angle preferred
- IFRS and US GAAP preferred
