About The Position

Ping Identity is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Lead Accountant to join their Accounting team. This role reports to the Senior Manager, Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting and will be instrumental in preparing and reviewing financial statements, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations, supporting technical accounting matters, and contributing to strategic accounting initiatives. This is a significant opportunity to join a high-impact accounting team during a period of substantial change, with close involvement in critical financial reporting and governance activities for the company's evolving needs.

Requirements

Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience.
CPA certification.
4+ years of relevant accounting experience, with public accounting or financial reporting experience preferred.
Knowledge and understanding of U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and SOX controls.
Advanced knowledge of Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets).
Works well in a team environment, as well as independently.
Excellent research and analytical skills and a detail-oriented mindset.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to prioritize effectively, meet deadlines, and follow through to execute all tasks.

Responsibilities

Prepare and review quarterly and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
Assist in the interpretation and application of U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations to ensure compliance with financial reporting requirements.
Collaborate with internal and external auditors to facilitate timely and efficient audits and reviews, ensuring all necessary supporting documentation is provided.
Conduct research on complex accounting transactions and prepare written accounting memos for review by management and external auditors.
Support prospective mergers and acquisitions activity, including financial due diligence and purchase price accounting.
Work closely with internal teams (FP&A, Tax, Corporate Development, etc.) and external advisors (e.g., legal counsel) as needed to support all financial data reporting needs.
Assist with special projects impacting the broader accounting organization.
Stay up to date with emerging accounting pronouncements and industry trends, assessing their impact on the organization.
