About The Position

Sunoco LP is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Accountant to join our dynamic accounting team. This role requires a strong technical accounting background, expertise in GAAP, and significant experience in international consolidation, acquisition purchase price accounting, and integration. The Lead Accountant will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting and will be instrumental in managing complex accounting projects related to mergers and acquisitions and technical accounting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 8+ years of related experience.
  • Strong experience in SAP S/4 FIORI/Winshuttle.
  • Strong analytic and data analysis skills required, especially MS Excel.
  • Must display good judgment and be able to work independently, as needed.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Must be flexible, adaptable and have a high level of initiative.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior fuel inventory and general ledger accounting experience preferred
  • Experience working with Right Angle preferred
  • IFRS and US GAAP preferred

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) in all financial reporting.
  • Provide guidance on complex technical accounting issues and new accounting standards.
  • Conduct regular assessments and updates of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the consolidation of financial statements for multiple international entities.
  • Manage intercompany transactions, eliminations, and reconciliations.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant international accounting standards and regulations.
  • Coordinate with international accounting teams to gather and analyze financial data.
  • Assist with reporting and consolidation enhancements of ancillary ERP accounting systems
  • Lead the accounting workstream leads for acquisitions, including purchase price allocations (PPA).
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate acquired entities into the company's financial systems and processes.
  • Analyze and document the financial impact of acquisitions on consolidated financial statements.
  • Monitor and report on post-acquisition performance and related financial metrics.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial reporting efficiency and accuracy.
  • Perform in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and key drivers impacting business performance.
  • Lead and participate in special accounting and finance projects as required by Sunoco LP Accounting
  • Analyze and provide recommendations for process improvements and best practices.
  • Collaborate with various departments to support strategic initiatives and business objectives.
  • Prepare ad hoc financial reports and analyses to support decision-making processes.
