About The Position

The Lead Accelerating Scholars Program Coach performs a variety of tasks to assure appropriate services for the Accelerating Scholars high-impact tutoring program in Metro Nashville Public Schools. The coach works with Accelerating Scholars staff, school-based staff, relevant support organizations, and tutors to monitor the tutoring program at schools. The coach supports planning and managing evaluation services, records, resources, and tutor training, to facilitate a comprehensive program of service to students participating in Accelerating Scholars. The coach is also responsible for working with others to accomplish the goals and objectives of the tutoring program and serves as a communication link to school personnel, parents, and community.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Required
  • 5 years of experience working in a K-12 public school and/or a project management role Required

Responsibilities

  • Works with colleagues to accomplish the goals and objectives of MNPS’ high-impact tutoring program.
  • Lead and coach staff tutors and tutor leads by overseeing hiring, onboarding, and goal-setting, and by developing and facilitating professional learning for tutors and tutor leads to ensure consistent, high-quality instructional implementation.
  • Manage partnerships with tutoring vendors, including setting annual expectations, developing scopes of work, monitoring implementation, and reviewing impact reporting.
  • Coordinate tutoring allocation and student rostering by collaborating with principals and tutor leads in selecting staffing and delivery models, and ensuring implementation decisions align with program strategy, best practices, and student needs.
  • Performs special projects to support the growth and improvement of tutoring services.
  • Collaborate with both internal and external Research teams to monitor program data and outcomes, ensure tutoring quality, and inform continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with TN DOE and other external entities regarding program information and data for the district’s high-impact tutoring implementation.
  • Regularly visit schools to monitor tutoring quality and implementation fidelity, collaborate with school leaders to address challenges, and ensure tutoring practices align with program expectations and student needs.
