About The Position

The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) Scholars Program – Professional Alumni Development Cohort is a selective professional development experience designed to support HBCU graduates as they advance within their careers and leadership journeys. This cohort-based program offers emerging and established professionals structured opportunities to refine their leadership competencies, strengthen strategic thinking, and expand their access to high-impact professional networks. Grounded in TMCF’s commitment to lifelong leadership development, the program equips participants with practical tools and insights necessary to navigate evolving workplace environments, lead within complex organizational systems, and position themselves for sustained career growth. Through curated learning sessions, peer engagement, and industry-informed development experiences, scholars will deepen their capacity to lead with clarity, adaptability, and influence. This experience emphasizes applied leadership, professional agility, and network cultivation, recognizing that career advancement is shaped not only by technical expertise but by decision-making, communication, and relationship-building capabilities. Participants will engage in collaborative discussions, executive-level development exercises, and reflective learning designed to translate directly into their professional contexts. Requirements

  • Must be a graduate of a Historically Black College or University (HBCU)
  • Must have earned a bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution
  • Must be currently employed or actively engaged in a professional career pathway
  • Must demonstrate an interest in leadership development and career advancement
  • Must exhibit strong professional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must demonstrate a commitment to professional growth and continuous learning
  • Must be able to participate in scheduled program activities fully
  • Must maintain a professional standard consistent with TMCF’s leadership values

Nice To Haves

  • Prior leadership, supervisory, or management experience
  • Demonstrated involvement in mentorship, community engagement, or professional organizations
