About The Position

Join our team as a Lead 2, a pivotal working leader role focused on ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality operation within your assigned production area. Requirements

  • Strong numerical aptitude, with excellent math skills to support accurate tracking and reporting of production data.
  • A proven record of safety compliance and outstanding performance, with no active disciplinary warnings.
  • Physical capability to safely lift, pack, and stack items weighing up to 40 pounds following ergonomic best practices.
  • Willingness and availability to work overtime as necessary to meet production demands.
  • Strict adherence to safety standards, including the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and facilitating a safety-first culture within the team.
  • General understanding of the business operations to align area performance with company goals.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with an ability to effectively lead and motivate team members toward shared objectives.
  • Self-motivated with the capacity to work independently, follow written and verbal instructions meticulously, and manage leadership responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Strong skills in time management, strategic planning, and forward thinking to anticipate and address operational needs.
  • Experience assisting in process improvement projects, contributing ideas and helping implement effective changes that enhance workflow and quality.
  • Adaptable and receptive to change, with an emphasis on fostering a collaborative and positive team environment to support business goals.
  • Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, and electronic communication, able to clearly convey information and instructions to team members and management.

  • Physical ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds as needed to support production activities safely.
  • Comfortable working in moderate noise environments with a range of physical activities including reaching, swiveling, and carrying items between locations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating forklift trucks and material handling equipment is highly desirable, enhancing flexibility and operational capability.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coach all production personnel within the designated area, closely observing daily performance and providing timely feedback and evaluations to support continuous improvement.
  • Ensure strict adherence to company policies and procedures in all activities, including picking, packing, material handling, auditing, safety protocols, and housekeeping standards to maintain operational excellence.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate records and documentation related to all processes and activities in the assigned area to facilitate transparent tracking and reporting.
  • Track and analyze production metrics, ensuring that output quantity and quality consistently meet or exceed daily targets while implementing corrective measures as needed.
  • Conduct first-piece quality checks on new jobs to prevent the production of defective items, providing hands-on training and guidance to team members on quality standards and defect prevention.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in all operational positions within the area to effectively train and support new personnel, ensuring a versatile and skilled workforce.
  • Coordinate job staging activities, ensuring that upcoming tasks are fully prepared and ready to begin on time, thereby minimizing downtime and optimizing workflow.
  • Identify opportunities for productivity enhancement and efficiency improvements, proposing practical solutions to address challenges and streamline processes.
  • Operate motorized industrial equipment safely and efficiently when required, adhering strictly to operational and safety guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, promoting best practices in housekeeping and safety compliance across the team.
  • Exhibit consistent punctuality and attendance to reliably support team and production schedules.
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork in supporting broader organizational goals.
