About The Position

The Lead Technician will act as a subject matter expert for their maintenance discipline, accepting additional responsibilities and providing training and mentoring to shop personnel. They will be in charge of leading their individual teams, performing all core duties of applicable technician requirements at an exceptional level. This role involves coordinating with AMC Maintenance Support and Planning Departments for field maintenance needs, overseeing and organizing shop personnel resources and workflow to meet project deadlines, and providing communications to the Engineering Department for specialized shop needs. The Lead Technician will also provide training on 145 maintenance processes and specialized shop equipment, report on project constraints and progress updates, mentor new employees, and give feedback to supervisors on employee performance. Additionally, they are responsible for monitoring, controlling, and ordering material usage in the designated shop.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and eight (8) or more years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Efficient in the use of electronic or paper based manuals and able to navigate through vendor data to find necessary information
  • Ability to apply comprehensive knowledge of concepts and practices of their specific disciplines skills and their application.
  • Ability to work independently or within a team environment.
  • Ability to manage several projects concurrently and to work on problems of diverse scope and implement solutions.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the AMC Safety Management System.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Thorough knowledge and ability to utilize of multiple RAMCO functions
  • Regular scheduled attendance
  • Subject to drug and/or alcohol testing per the DOT/FAA requirements (pre-employment, random, reasonable cause/suspicion, post-accident).

Nice To Haves

  • Lead experience preferred
  • Comprehensive knowledge of AMC part 145 and 135 maintenance requirements and procedures
  • FAA A&P or meet requirements to obtain a FAA repairman certificated preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform all core duties of applicable technician requirements at an exceptional level
  • Coordinate with AMC Maintenance Support and Planning Departments to provide support for field maintenance needs

  • Mentor new employees in understanding shop procedures to increase their efficiency and productivity
  • Give feedback to Supervisor on employee performance
  • Responsible for monitoring, controlling and ordering of material usage in the designated shop
  • Other duties as assigned
