We have immediate openings in the greater Chattanooga, TN area starting July 27, 2026 continuing into the 26-27 school year. Position Summary As a School-Based Clinical Mental Health Supervisor you provide direct therapeutic services to students K-12 while supervising school-based mental health clinicians pursuing or maintaining licensure. You ensure ethical evidence-based clinical practice, oversee Medicaid-aligned documentation, and sign off on insurance claims for provisionally licensed staff under your supervision.

Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted Tennessee licensure: LCSW, LPC-MHSP, LMFT, or Psychologist
  • Meets Tennessee requirements to provide clinical supervision
  • Minimum 5 years of clinical experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
  • Experience working with children and adolescents
  • Familiarity with Medicaid and private insurance billing and documentation requirements
  • Knowledge of child development, trauma-informed care, and evidence-based therapeutic approaches
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification
  • Clear background check and proof of immunization status per district requirements

Nice To Haves

  • School-based or community mental health experience
  • Experience supervising early-career or provisionally licensed clinicians
  • Training in TF-CBT, DBT, or other evidence-based modalities
  • Experience with crisis intervention and suicide and self-harm assessment
  • Bilingual capability: Spanish, Somali, or Arabic is a meaningful plus

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical supervision to school-based mental health counselors pursuing or maintaining licensure
  • Ensure ethical evidence-based clinical practice aligned with Tennessee licensure standards
  • Support clinicians with case consultation, risk assessment, crisis response guidance, and treatment planning
  • Sign off on all insurance claims for individuals under your purview who are not yet fully licensed
  • Deliver individual and group therapy using trauma-informed evidence-based approaches
  • Conduct intake assessments and develop individualized mental health treatment plans
  • Assess suicide and self-harm risk, develop safety plans, and respond to mental health crises
  • Facilitate family meetings, caregiver training, and mental health education
  • Maintain accurate timely clinical documentation and treatment progress records
  • Collaborate with school counselors, special education staff, nurses, and community partners
  • Oversee Medicaid-aligned documentation and partner with billing teams on claims and compliance
