About The Position

This is a Personal Service Contract Posting for the Lincoln's Challenge Academy (LCA) Dining Facility (DFAC) Supervisor. The role involves managing all aspects of the dining facility, including personnel, food standards, safety, ordering, menu planning, and record-keeping. The supervisor will also be responsible for training staff and cadets, managing attendance and time, upholding policies, and ensuring proper food preparation and office management. A resume, transcripts/diploma, and any applicable professional licenses are required for application. The position is located at 212 W Borman Dr, Rantoul, Illinois, 61866.

Requirements

  • Experience in food preparation and cooking in a commercial kitchen setting
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Ability to follow recipes and adjust quantities as needed
  • Food Handlers Certification
  • Requires the ability to pass a DoD background investigation.
  • Requires a valid driver’s license in the appropriate classification as required by law.
  • Must work one weekend a month.
  • Must work a flex work schedule including weekends and evenings when necessary to meet agency needs.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all areas of the dining facility and personnel, including reports, staff timesheets, and other required documentation.
  • Ensure all processes are followed and completed in a timely manner for accurate monthly and year-end accounting records.
  • Order food or commodities and plan daily menus according to Department of Education guidelines, ensuring food acceptability.
  • Receive shipments and deliveries of merchandise from vendors and delivery personnel.
  • Manage multiple programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook), organizing files, record keeping, and maintaining customer service telephone skills.
  • Maintain good customer and employee relations and render courteous and efficient customer service with all staff, vendors, and cadets.
  • Provide supervision and guidance to Dining Facility staff and cadets to accomplish the mission and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Uphold the National Guard Master Cooperative Agreement to enforce SOPs, safety regulations, program policies, and other rules and regulations.
  • Track and manage employee attendance and time, ensuring accurate payroll and compliance with labor laws.
  • Address attendance issues such as tardiness and excessive absences.
  • Demonstrate dependability and follow Lincoln’s Challenge Academy Policies and procedures.
  • Use recipe cards to prepare assigned food items and inform the Lead Cook of quantities prepared.
  • Maintain accountability of monies collected during meal service.
