About The Position

This position is responsible for performing first article casting layouts and delta layouts, as well as quarterly equipment calibrations plant-wide. The role requires the ability to identify casting defects and assist in correcting non-conforming castings by using scribe lines to bring suspect features or surfaces within blueprint tolerances for location and size. The technician must be able to accurately use various types of measurement and test equipment (MTE), including height gauges, micrometers, verniers, and dial indicators.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalency
• Minimum 1 year as a Fixture Technician or equivalent
• Vision-sight, cannot be color-blind
• Reading, writing
• Above average math aptitude (Basic algebra and trig ability)
• Dexterity
• Depth perception
• Problem solver
• Self-motivated
• Be able to read and interpret dimensional drawings
• Measuring skills
• Test equipment knowledge
• Speaking English
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Pass (70% or above) a preliminary aptitude exam approved by the departmental manager/supervisor
