About The Position

This is a direct hire opening for a Layout Inspector on the first shift. The primary goal of this role is to inspect parts to confirm they meet customer requirements. Success in this role requires strong shop math skills, the ability to handle parts of various sizes, and proficiency in using equipment like cranes and towmotors for positioning. You will also utilize grinders as needed to bring parts within tolerance, conduct dimensional inspections, and ensure parts meet quality requirements. A key aspect of the job is understanding and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings. The role may also involve CMM operation and other general duties as needed.

Requirements

• Experience with inspection equipment
• Understanding of fractions, decimals, geometry, and trigonometry
• Good understanding of blueprints
• Strong overall mechanical aptitude
• HS diploma or equivalent
• Demonstrates ingenuity and creativity in problem solving

Responsibilities

• Inspect parts to confirm they meet the customer's requirements.
• Move parts and position them with Cranes and Towmotors.
• Utilize grinders as needed to bring parts within tolerance.
• Conduct dimensional inspections of parts and check for quality requirements.
• Understand and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
