About The Position

AI is rewriting the rules of legal practice. CV Labs, the product and growth studio within CanadaVisa, is building an AI-native law firm. Our ecosystem reaches 1.5 million visitors per month and powers Canada's largest immigration peer community. We are looking for licensed professionals to advise clients, close business, and help rethink how a legal practice converts and serves clients at scale. This role offers the opportunity to own a book of business, collaborate with engineers to automate workflows, and shape the product roadmap. The goal is to fundamentally rethink legal service delivery, accessibility, and the future of legal careers.

Requirements

  • Licensed lawyer (member of a Canadian provincial or territorial law society) or a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) in good standing with the CICC, authorized to advise and represent clients on Canadian immigration matters.
  • Persuasive, clear, and concise communication skills, with the ability to explain complex situations to clients and instill confidence.
  • Ability to thrive with a full calendar and be energized by client interactions.
  • Fast learner, with a willingness to be trained on new practice areas using AI-powered tools.
  • Experience using AI tools such as Claude and ChatGPT, with a strong understanding of their implications for legal work.
  • Comfort and excitement in working alongside AI and pushing its capabilities further.
  • A systems thinker who identifies opportunities for automation and thinks in terms of workflows, edge cases, and scalable processes.
  • Startup-oriented mindset with a desire for ownership, speed, and impact.
  • Willingness to build and write the playbook rather than follow an existing one.
  • Comfort working on the front lines of the business in a builder's role.

Responsibilities

  • Advise and convert prospective clients across one or more practice areas, assessing their situation, explaining options, and guiding them toward the right service.
  • Turn client interest into signed agreements, earning engagement through sound judgment and authority.
  • Operate at the intersection of legal practice, sales, and product, owning the client relationship from first conversation through retainer.
  • Work closely with the department team servicing the file and partner with product and engineering teams to automate aspects of the job.
  • Own a revenue target and the autonomy to achieve it, converting warm leads at velocity while maintaining quality and compliance.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to automate intake, qualification, and follow-up processes.
  • Utilize AI daily for research, preparation, follow-up, pipeline management, and handling tasks previously requiring a team.
  • Act as an early adopter and tester for the firm's platform, identifying issues and working with the team to implement fixes.
  • Codify successful processes by building playbooks, scripts, and training materials to facilitate rapid onboarding of new hires.
